Kaouter Essakkat’s research lies at the intersection of natural resource economics and behavioral economics, with a focus on ecosystem services valuation and agricultural technology adoption. She examines how economic incentives, market-based mechanisms, and behavioral factors influence farmers' decision-making. Her past work has explored producers’ valuation of soil health-associated ecosystem services, assessing their willingness to pay for conservation policies. Her current research focuses on the adoption of AI-driven weed management technologies. By integrating econometric methods, survey data, and simulation modeling, her work provides insights to inform policy design and technology adoption strategies for sustainable agriculture.
