The benefits of environmental goods and services are not easily tallied. However, decision makers like government agencies need dollar values of environmental goods to decide whether the benefits of environmental policies and management actions are worth the costs. CEOS researchers use a range of cutting edge methods, from survey research to housing price analysis, to estimate what stewarding nature is worth.
